Windows and Mirrors

Vinegar is great for giving windows and mirrors an extra-clean shine. Mix equal parts of vinegar and water in soap dispenser or spray bottle. Apply this solution to windows / mirrors and wipe with a newspaper and get a streak-free shine.

Stubborn Stains

Vinegar can get stubborn stains out of carpet, sofa, or other cloths and, bonus, it is a great deodorizer. Many of us think that vinegar stinks, but the fact is vinegar can trap terrible odors. Take sponge and apply a paste of white distilled vinegar mixed with baking soda onto the affected area.

Clogged Showerhead

Use vinegar to dissolve mineral build-up in showerheads due to hard water. Add a cup of vinegar to a plastic sack. Tie this sack around shower head in such a way that it sits in the vinegar. Allow it to soak overnight. Remove it and turn on the shower to rinse.

Cut Flowers

To extend the life of cut flowers add a few tablespoons of white vinegar and sugar to the water. Change the water every few days of course with more vinegar and sugar to enhance your flowers last longer.

Dishwasher

To get rid of the build-up of lime and soap from the dishwasher, pour a cup of white vinegar into an empty dishwasher, then run it for a short duration.

Please note that not to use vinegar on granite, marble or other stone surfaces. The acid in vinegar can damage these surfaces.
